Totteco

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What data Totteco handles and how it's used, in plain language. For the formal terms, see the privacy policy.

What information does the app collect?

Totteco itself does not transmit anything to its own servers. Photos, frame assets, and settings stay on the device.

For quality improvement we use Firebase Analytics (usage), Firebase Crashlytics (crash data), and Google AdMob (advertising). These are third-party services operated by Google LLC, and each sends specific data to Google's servers.

Are my photos uploaded?

No. Photos are stored only on your device. They are never sent to servers operated by Totteco. The current version does not provide iCloud sync, so photos do not leave the device.

How is location used?

Precise location is optionally recorded as photo metadata. It stays on the device only and is not transmitted to any server operated by Totteco.

Separately, AdMob may infer an approximate region from your IP address for ad targeting. This is not precise positioning, only a coarse area-level signal.

Why do you show ads?

Totteco is a free, indie-developed app. Banner ads (AdMob) appear only at the bottom of the photo library screen to support development and operation. They do not appear on the capture or editing screens, where focus matters most.

What data does AdMob use for advertising?

AdMob may use the following for ad delivery:

• Advertising identifier (IDFA) — only if you allow it via ATT
• Interaction history with ads (impressions, clicks)
• Approximate region inferred from your IP
• Technical metadata such as device model and OS version

IDFA is Apple's standard advertising identifier used across permitted apps for personalization and measurement.

What is App Tracking Transparency (ATT)?

ATT is an iOS feature that presents a permission dialog before an app accesses your IDFA. Totteco shows this prompt the first time you open the photo library screen.

If you deny, ads will still appear but may be less relevant. You can change the choice at any time from Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.

How do I turn personalized advertising off completely?

In iOS Settings, go to Privacy & Security → Apple Advertising and turn off Personalized Ads to suppress personalized advertising system-wide.

Can I disable analytics and crash reporting?

There is no in-app opt-out UI for Firebase Analytics / Crashlytics today. The data is not collected in a way that identifies you personally, and is used only for quality improvement.

If you want to stop the collection, please delete the app or contact us.

Can I change camera / photos / location permissions later?

Yes. In iOS Settings → Totteco you can change camera, photo library, location, and tracking permissions at any time.

Can children under 13 use this app?

Totteco is not intended for users under 13. Children under 13 should use the app only with parental consent.
